Welcome and thank you for listening to my podcast. This week I team up for another Excusitarian Episode with Timaree Hagenburger. Many people don’t feel the need to examine or change their nutrition choices because they feel healthy presently. You may feel healthy and actually be healthy at the current moment, but how about tomorrow? Or are you really healthy or just comparing yourself to your friends or family members who you perceive to be less healthy than you are. Lifestye diseases like coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer just do not appear overnight. They can smolder undetected for many years and may present with a catastrophic event like a stroke, heart attack or side effects from long standing glucose intolerance. Maybe you have accepted that the sluggish feeling at the end of the day is normal or that everyone your age is a little bit overweight. Timaree and I discuss this “excuse” for not eating a healthy plant based diet. I would encourage you to take a look at how you really feel. What would you consider optimal for your state of wellness? Is aging a mandatory state of decline? We all age but how fast our body deteriorates is largely in our own control. I personally would like to live well until I die as opposted to ride the steep curve of continual decline until death. Eating a plant based diet rich in nutrients and antioxicants can allow your body to heal itself so you can maintain an optimal state of health. Daily exercise can keep you mobile and help to maintain your muscle and bone mass. I hope you enjoy our chat. Check out Timaree at Thenutritionprofessor.com.
