Blogpost: Functional Assessment

I took a walk day after my long run weekend. It is hard not to continually push the pace and distance. But sometimes you need an easy day. In fact, every other day can be an easy effort and is great active recovery. So today, Three-o and I took off on our easy walk hoping the ankle would loosen up. After a bit of a rocky start ,Three-o perked up and we saw a black lab pulling his owner on the street ahead. Instead of going around, I decided to ease up to them until Three-o became uncomfortable. At that time we stopped and did some focus training and was able to continue. About a block later a yellow lab bolted out of a house pulling his owner. Focus lost. The owner was kind enough to let us pass by the house and Three-o did well. Some days the focus is different. Today, it was about taking it easy on me and Three-o. It was a recovery walk. We could have decided not to go at all because I earned a rest day but I am more happy to have completed a recovery day. I hope you have a good walk.
