Podcast: Happy Birthday to the Diva!

Welcome! and Thank you for listening.  Happy 89th Birthday Diva!

Longevity vs health span?  What are some observations that I have made following my mom’s health span?

Being social and interacting with others is something the Diva has excelled at.

Positive mental attitude or even more a “can do” attitude has been her approach to life.

Plant based nutrition of course.  More importantly avoiding toxic metabolites.

Move your body.  Saving it will not prolong it.  The Diva gets her steps in, does yoga, golfs and takes care of her house.

Maintaining strength is perhaps more important than muscle mass for longevity.   Get a grip on it and lift it!

Soy is a good thing and need not be avoided.  In fact, there are essentially no side effects and it might beat tamoxifen in some breast cancers.  How do you get your soy?  I drink soy milk, use miso, eat tofu and tempeh and use low sodium soy sauce.

I actually learned a few things about your family/life that I did not know 🙂
Between your mom (a living, breathing, super positive role model), your daughter (Such a wonderful, knowledgeable, nutritionist and motivator over the phone and online) and you (The compassionate, purpose driven Plant-based doctor, ultra athlete) it is difficult to decide who is the strongest woman I know! Thank you all for making the Berrys the best they can be. Happy Birthday Diva—-See you at YOGA!!!
